Postal Board of Governors Select David Steiner as Next Postmaster General

At today’s regularly scheduled U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors meeting, Chair Amber McReynolds announced the selection of David Steiner as the next Postmaster General. NAPS attended the meeting and was able to speak with members of the Board after the announcement. Steiner is presently on the Board of Directors of FedEx and was formerly the chief executive officer of Waste Management, Inc., a national sanitation company. It is expected that Steiner will resign his FedEx board seat and divest his FedEx holdings prior to becoming the Postmaster General. Chair McReynolds indicated that Steiner would assume the PMG position in July, upon completion of his vetting by the Postal Inspection Service.
