Early this evening, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 2382, the USPS Fairness Act, with a 309-106 majority. The legislation would repeal the onerus requirement that the USPS prefund future retiree health benefits. Yesterday, NAPS sent a letter to all members of the House asking for a "Yes" vote on the bill. H.R. 2382 was introduced by Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-OR) and attracted 301 cosponsors. Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) introduced the Senate version of the House bill, S. 2965. The bill has yet to be scheduled for any action in the Senate. NAPS members should contact their Senators to cosponsor the bill.
