On Dec. 20, the Postal Service unveiled the new electric vehicles that will be replacing the current fleet. The agency anticipates in-creasing the number of next-generation delivery vehicles to a mini-mum of 60,000—of which at least 45,000 will be battery electric—by 2028.
Postmaster General Louis DeJoy made this announcement at the Dec. 20 event with representatives from the White House in attend-ance. The Postal Service electing to change its fleet to electric vehicles has helped the White House move a year ahead of schedule in having the government vehicle fleet be-come electric.
